You want to change the height of the split point on your bar? This accessory lets you move the split point up or down on the front lines, to increase or reduce the height of the split point.
If you want to match exactly the features of a given bar, you can do it.
No tool required to install it.
FIRST, WE NEED TO SAY THAT THIS ACCESSORY IS NOT MANDATORY for the Kite Attitude universal bars. A vast majority of Kite Attitude users are very very happy with the bars as they are. This smart tool was designed to give an answer to those who think it is necessary to have the very same height of split point as the manufacturer's control bar.
Let us remind you of a number of points:
1) Most pro riders tend to remove the split point and convert their bar into a 4 direct line bar, just like "in the old times" (C kites...). This gives more "slack" for unhooked moves (in other words, it feels lighter for your arms when unhooking).
2) kite school instructors appreciate 4 direct lines too (4 direct lines is the default setup of our kite school bars). Of course kite instructors use all kite brands... If the trainee lets the kite roll onto itself and crossed the front and steering lines, it is easier to pass the bar in between the front lines to uncross the lines.
3) the higher the split point, the shorter the radius of the curve when the kite turns (the kite will tend to turn more onto its ears). Is this good or bad? It is really a matter of personal taste and feeling. Pros : in the waves, when changing directions, the kite may turn faster. Cons: you may loose a bit of power when launching the kite into the window, as the radius will be shorter.
4) the length of the kite lines has probably much more influence on the behaviour of the kite, than the height of the split point.
We suggest that you watch these 2 videos: they prove you can have a lot of fun with the Kite Attitude universal bars and the major kite brands, without changing the split point:
Again, there is nothing scientific, it is really a matter of personal taste/feeling to have a low or high split point. And we have the solution!
