  • You need a really short chicken loop for wave riding or hydrofoiling?
  • You need the best possible swivel for your kiteloops or downloops

The AKA 3 chicken loop is THE new reference for demanding riders.

AVAILABLE SIZES

Available in 4 different sizes:

  1. XS: optimized for rope harnesses. No donkey dick! So you cannot use it with a standard steel buckle
  2. S: small size, ideal for kids, wave riders or hydrofoil riders...
  3. M: medium size. This is the standard size for everyone. You can unhook. Choose this one if you don't know which size is best.
  4. L: large size for advanced freestylers!

Note: we recommend the Antal friction ring if you are using a rope harness. It will protect both the rope and the chicken loop tube. Plus, the chicken loop will slide very very easily on the rope. The Antal ring is sold separately.

You can use the Antal friction ring with all chicken loop sizes: XS, S or M.

AKA 2 or AKA 3 CHICKEN LOOP?

The AKA 2 has many benefits. It's been used by many brands. It is very easy to operate and reload.

The AKA 3 goes even further:

The central hole is the widest in the kite industry. This is a major benefit when you trigger the QR and also when you want to relaunch the kite. The loop of the front line connected to the safety line can be coated. It will slide easily both ways inside the QR. Not always the case with other QRs on the market... Also, many premium brands use a thin loop to connect to the safety line. This thin loop is obviously a weak point that can break overtime. With the AKA 3, you can use a front line with a sleeve and connect it to the safety line. This is much safer and your lines will last longer.

The AKA 2 is short... the AKA 3 is even 2 cm shorter! Young people, wave riders and hydrofoilers will love it!

The swivel can untwist your lines even with big load! It means you can untwist your lines in strong winds while you are sheeting in. In fact, it is very common that the AKA 3 will do the job for you automatically! It can untwist by itself!

Installing the AKA 3 on any control bar on the market is really fast and easy. Watch the video!

The central part is made of stainless steel, and it is still as light as the AKA 2!

The rotor at the top is covered with a moulded softer top and will absorb shocks (and better protect your bar!).

The AKA 3 is highly efficient in terms of load tests. It takes less than 4 kg to release with loads of several hundred kilos. Up to 3 times better than the requirements of the Afnor or the new ISO standards.

The AKA 3 is built in the best factories in the world.

UPWARD COMPATIBILITY

INSTALLING THE AKA 3

Follow these instructions to set up the AKA 3 chicken loop/quick releaser on any control bar on the market. You can do it in a 2 minutes!

BEST PRACTICE - MAINTAINING THE AKA 3

Make sure your AKA 3 works fine before kiting. Check it every time before kiting.

It is also a good idea to "dip" your bar in the water when you start kiting to remove all sand on the QR, and also on the depower rope/trim rope. The depower rope and trim will last longer.

The French Afnor standard recommends that you replace your quick releaser every other year (or more frequently). This is ideal, but we think it is a good idea to replace the rope inside the chicken loop tube on a regular basis (every 2 year is a safe habit, especially if you kite most days of the week, most weeks of the year).

You should rinse the AKA 3 and the bar with fresh water after every session.

Patented in Europe. Patent pending in other countries.
